Dubai has many translation offices, and they are not interchangeable. The wrong choice can mean a rejected document, a missed deadline, or paying twice. This guide lists what to check.
Check the translator's license first
Legal translations used with courts, ministries and embassies must be stamped by a translator licensed by the UAE Ministry of Justice. Ask who will sign your document and whether their license is current. A pretty stamp from an unlicensed office will not be accepted.
Match the office to your document type
A birth certificate, a court judgment and a company contract are different jobs. Look for an office that publishes the document types it handles and the price for each. At Jusor Alkalimat the document pages list the price and the uploads required for each document, so you know the cost before you send anything.
Ask what the stamp package includes
A proper certified translation carries the translator's stamp, seal and a certificate of accuracy. Ask whether these are included in the quoted price and whether the translation keeps the layout of the original.
Compare turnaround honestly
Standard turnaround and express turnaround are different. Ask for both, and ask what happens if the receiving entity asks for corrections.
Know what comes after translation
Many documents also need attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of Justice. Read our MOFA and MOJ attestation guide so you plan the whole sequence, not only the translation step.
Protect confidential files
Contracts, court files and financial statements are sensitive. Ask how files are transferred and stored, and whether the office signs a confidentiality agreement.
Questions to ask before you hire
- Is the translator licensed by the Ministry of Justice, and will they sign my document?
- Is the stamp and certificate of accuracy included in the price?
- What is the standard and the express turnaround?
- Will the layout of the original be kept?
- What happens if the receiving entity rejects the translation?
Our office

How to Compare Offers Fairly
Two offices can quote very different prices for what looks like the same job. Compare them on the same basis.
- Compare the same scope. Ask each office whether the quote includes the translator's stamp, the certificate of accuracy, proofreading and corrections.
- Compare the same turnaround. A cheaper quote with a longer delivery time is not cheaper if you miss a deadline.
- Ask about extra charges. Some offices charge separately for layout, urgent delivery or additional copies. Ask for these in writing.
- Look at published prices. An office that lists the price of each document type makes comparison easier and reduces surprises.
Signs You May Want to Look Elsewhere
Vague answers about the translator. If the office cannot say who will sign your document, or whether they are licensed, treat that as a warning.
No mention of the receiving entity. A good office asks where the translation will be used, because the requirements differ between a court, a ministry and an embassy.
Promises that sound too good. Very low prices combined with very short delivery times for long or technical documents deserve a second look.
Pressure to pay before any review. A careful office will tell you what it will deliver before you pay.
Preparing Your Documents
Whichever office you choose, prepare the file well. Send complete, clear copies, confirm the spelling of names against the passport, and tell the office which entity will receive the translation. This helps the office get it right the first time.
After You Receive the Translation
Check the names, numbers and dates against the original before you submit. Keep an electronic copy and the stamped paper copy together. If the receiving entity asks for a correction, send the request to the office promptly so it can be fixed.
Matching the Office to Your Situation
A private individual with one certificate has different needs from a company with a hundred pages of contracts. Individuals usually value clear per-document prices and quick delivery. Companies usually value a team that can keep terms consistent across a large file and respond when the receiving entity asks for changes. Say which describes you when you ask for a quote.
